  • Full faced helmet, long sleeve top / jersey, long pants, gloves, closed in shoes.

Optional Extra’s – for long term racers

  • A transponder – A transponder is used to score finish line positions.  Lap and reaction times are calculated.  A transponder is required for all riders in challenge classes who wish to be scored and compete in the club series for a placing and Opens.  A transponder is not required for participation in Mini Wheelers and Sprockets (see Transponder section for more information).
  • Number plate and a number – (See Number plates section for more information)

Transponders

  • To allow accurate, fast and repeatable race results a transponder is required when attending everything from a gate night practice, club race night events and right through to the world titles if you want to have your times recorded and compete in the point score.
  • Each transponder has a unique number associated with it, this is how the system will identify you on the track.  The transponder used in BMX racing is called the pro chip FLEX and is available through the club, AusCycling Australia, Mylaps and many other places, they are all the same and run on an internal battery. Upon purchase you will choose a subscription service time from 1 year up till 5 years.
  • You can find more information through the club or here:
